Trying to get back into this blogging thing, i thought i would look back at the cars I'v owned up until the 2cv era,
so here they are in chronological order , loved them all for different reasons, The Cortina because it went like the clappers,
The Prefect and the Popular for things like the vacuum powered windscreen wipers and only having three gears in the Popular,
and being able to fit the engine from the Cortina into the Prefect so that went like the clappers too!
The Rover was just the bees knees ,second only to Rolls-Royce at the time, a gas guzzling monster with leather and hardwood interior,
the noisiest thing inside really was the clock! i would love to own one now.
Moved on to French cars, the Renault was the right price at the right time, very nice and comfortable and lasted six months before the clutch went, so drove it like an automatic to the dealer and traded it in for the Peugeot 304, great little car, the heater never worked in all the three years i had it.
Traded that in for the Peugeot 305, the most reliable car i have ever owned, very economic and in four or five years i only changed two shock absorbers and the fuel filter.
Then i started to buy 2cv's but thats another story.......................
these pics are not the actual cars but web images of the same models.
